Foundation Support

The mission of the ABOTA Foundation is to promote and improve the American civil justice system and to preserve the Seventh Amendment right to civil jury trials for future generations. We believe teachers are the primary guardians of democracy. Their knowledge, skills, and enthusiasm provide students with the tools to understand the rights and responsibilities of citizenship. The ABOTA Foundation provides resources and programs for teachers and students to better understand the Constitution, the judicial system, and civic engagement.

The Autzen Foundation supports charitable work that betters Oregon. Since 1951, Autzen has given grants to smaller non-profit organizations,with a focus on those with social service, arts and culture, educational, environmental, or youth-centered missions.

Established by Alfred S.V. Carpenter and Helen Bundy Carpenter in 1942, the purpose of the Carpenter Foundation is to add opportunity, choice, inclusiveness, enrichment, and a climate for change for those living in the Rogue Valley.

The Ben B. Cheney Foundation is active in communities where the Cheney Lumber Company operated. We make grants to organizations helping improve the quality of life in these communities.

The Cow Creek Umpqua Indian Foundation is a private, independent foundation, representing the Cow Creek Band of the Umpqua Tribe. We have a long and proud history of giving to the communities in which we live and work. Each year the Foundation makes grants to eligible non-profit organizations in communities in Coos, Deschutes, Douglas, Jackson, Josephine, Klamath, and Lane counties. We believe that nobody should be hungry, every child should feel safe, education builds character, and that healthy bodies and healthy minds mean healthy communities.

The Gordon Elwood Foundation invests in Oregon’s Jackson, Josephine, Klamath and Curry Counties to ensure that they are home to successful youth and individuals, thriving families and communities.

The Maybelle Clark Macdonald Fund has been investing in people and helping improve communities for more than forty years. Founded in 1970, our private, grant-making foundation is committed to assisting organizations in achieving sustainability of programs and services through increasing their fundraising capacity. We are proud of our long history of supporting the good works of Oregonians with grants to community-based, preselected Oregon not-for-profit organizations with whom we have established relationships.

James F. and Marion L. Miller Foundation strives to improve the academic success of students in K-12 classrooms. They believe that all children in Oregon can achieve at high levels, be prepared to enter adulthood with the knowledge, skills, and experience needed to be engaged and productive citizens.

The M.J. Murdock Charitable Trust, created by the will of the late Melvin J. (Jack) Murdock, provides grants to nonprofit organizations in the Pacific Northwest, seeking to strengthen the region’s educational, social, spiritual, and cultural base in creative and sustainable ways.

National High School Mock Trial Competition (NHSMTC) is dedicated to promoting an understanding and appreciation of the American judicial system through academic competitions and other endeavors for high school students.

NTEN supports organizations by convening the nonprofit community, offering professional credentials and training, and facilitating community skill and resource sharing.

The Oregon State Capitol Foundation is focused on preserving our Capitol, sharing its history and engaging Oregonians in our democracy.

The mission of the Oregon Community Foundation is to improve the lives of all Oregonians through the power of philanthropy. A statewide community foundation, OCF works alongside donors, stewarding strategic giving to support diverse communities across Oregon, creating lasting, transformative change.

The Oregon Law Foundation uses IOLTA interest to fund organizations in Oregon that provide legal services to people of lesser means, promote diversity in the legal profession, and educate the public about the law.

The Rotary Club of Lake Oswego is part of a worldwide organization of leaders and problem-solvers united to create lasting change worldwide and in our local communities. Rotarians focus on a set of core, critical issues, including supporting education and leadership development.

The Roundhouse Foundation supports programs that inspire creativity and connect people with each other and their sense of place to ensure sustainability and economic success for Oregon’s rural communities.

The Saling Foundation provides grants to nonprofit organizations for social and economic justice, for environment education, and to non-public sector social service organizations

The Spirit Mountain Community Fund focuses on improving the quality of life in Northwest Oregon through community investments that provide lasting benefits consistent with the Tribe’s culture and values.

State Farm® supports the communities where we live and work through Good Neighbor Citizenship® company grants, helping to build safer, stronger and better educated communities across the United States.

The Wayne Morse Center for Law and Politics carries on the fighting spirit and political independence of Oregon’s Senator Wayne Morse by promoting education and research to advance justice and democracy.

The Weyerhaeuser Giving Fund, supports U.S. and Canadian communities where Weyerhaeuser has a significant presence or business interest. These communities range from rural to metropolitan, each with unique priorities and needs. Employees serve on local advisory committees for our Giving Fund and develop funding priorities within five focus areas to support their communities: affordable housing and shelter; education and youth development; environmental stewardship; human services and civic and cultural growth; and workforce development. These focal areas provide a strong companywide framework for giving while allowing flexibility to meet unique needs in our different communities.
