He coached Central Catholic&#8217;s We the People team to the National competition in 2022, and has participated in nearly every CLP program &#8211; including serving as a volunteer while transitioning from a career in politics and government to teaching. Yes, he is competitive and driven, but this never gets in the way of why he does his job &#8212; he is there to inspire and educate the students. The most valuable way that he mentored me was participating in an outside training with me. Through a presentation from the League of Women Voters, we learned about a program that originated at Harvard Business School called the Case Method Institute. The Case Method Institute produces college-level case studies of various topics in U.S. History and Government and trains teachers to present these case studies to their classes and facilitate discussions with their classes about the case studies. He organizes voter registration among students and faculty, and provides after school elucidation sessions around election time where he works to answer any questions around various aspects of elections, ballot measures etc., and offers educational method training sessions to colleagues on vitally important topics.\u00bb &#8211; <em>Nicholas Netzel, Central Catholic High School<\/em><\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p><span data-sheets-value=\"{&quot;1&quot;:2,&quot;2&quot;:&quot;I started working with Geoff nine years ago when my daughter was in his American Government class. I met with him at a parent\/teacher conference and he suggested teaming up to create a WTP program at my school. We started a Con Team after-school program for 7th and 8th graders at my school, and he taught me everything I know about running the program. He has attended every Con Team meeting over the last eight years, dedicating hundreds of hours to develop my understanding and working with my middle school students. He has also trained his high school students to be coaches for the middle school program. Every year our program culminates in a mock Congressional Hearing with authentic and knowledgeable judges, and our kids perform incredibly due to Geoff's guidance and training. It is inspiring to see middle school students who are vested in our country's government, thus its future. Every year since 2015, Geoff has organized the program, recruiting his students to coach mine and gathering panels of judges to help with mooting and carrying out the Mock Congressional Hearing, which is the culmination and highlight of our middle school program. At his core, Geoff is a humble human being, and very likeable.
