We are thrilled to share\u00a0that the\u00a0Civics Education Act\u00a0(SB 513)<\/a> was passed unanimously out of the\u00a0Oregon House of Representatives\u00a0yesterday and is now on its way to Governor\u00a0Kate Brown for her signature.<\/p>\n

This is an amazing win for the future of civics education in Oregon.<\/strong> We consistently heard from lawmakers that they were \u201coverwhelmed\u201d by the amount of community support for the\u00a0Civics Education Act\u00a0that they were hearing and this legislation owes its success to the hundreds of educators, students, elected officials, business leaders and community members who made their voice heard.<\/p>\n

We are so grateful to everyone who helped to ensure that every Oregon high school student will have an opportunity to experience dedicated civics instruction before graduation. Thank you!<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
